Job Description

BMO investment specialist advising Canadian clients on wealth products and investment services. Handling bilingual French-English sales, service, compliance, and investment inquiries remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer needs and provide wealth and investment-related sales and service to BMO customers or prospects
  • Advise customers on wealth and investment strategies and products aligned with their objectives
  • Fulfill sales and service activities according to approved procedures
  • Identify and refer customers to other business groups as needed
  • Make outbound calls and proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer experience with suitable investment products
  • Monitor consumer needs, industry trends, best practices, and the regulatory environment
  • Provide professional sales and service for customer and prospect inquiries, issues, and requests
  • Probe to understand customer needs and advise them on investment needs
  • Achieve sales targets focused on relevant investment products
  • Manage transactional outcomes or refer matters to appropriate internal business groups
  • Escalate complex or unresolved customer situations to senior managers
  • Complete required documentation after customer interactions
  • Maintain current knowledge of investment markets, practices, and trends and apply it in customer conversations
  • Integrate relevant marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and Bank information
  • Identify and report suspicious activity potentially related to money laundering
  • Adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements, including AML/terrorist financing, FCAC consumer provisions, and Privacy Act requirements
  • Handle complex and diverse tasks, including escalations from other employees
  • Analyze issues and determine next steps
  • Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions aligned with strategy, policies, laws, and regulations
  • Perform other broader work or accountabilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of competitive marketplace trends and product offerings
  • Knowledge of BMO Investment / BMO InvestorLine products and services
  • Completed Canadian Securities Course (CSC) / CIRO licensed as an Investment Representative preferred
  • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) and the Derivatives Exam must be completed within a specified time to become fully functional in the role
  • Some understanding of Risk Management & Compliance

  • Availability to work between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM EST, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Fluency in French and English to support clients and team members inside and/or outside Quebec
