Job Description
Key Account Manager responsible for leading engagement and expansion strategies for strategic accounts in the Weather Division at DTN. Building long-term relationships and driving revenue growth as a trusted advisor.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, leading engagement and expansion strategies
- Foster deep relationships with executives and decision-makers, ensuring DTN is their go-to provider
- Develop and execute customized account plans, identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts
- Drive cross-selling and upselling initiatives to increase account value
- Achieve general knowledge of all DTN offerings
- Ensure account retention and satisfaction by delivering solutions that exceed expectations
- Utilize internal expertise and resources to help drive cross-selling opportunities, identifying opportunities for expansion
- Identify and pursue exceptionally large, high-value prospects that align with DTN’s strategic growth goals, as agreed upon with leadership
- Utilize market research and networking to uncover new business opportunities based on named prospect target list
- Lead high-stakes negotiations and presentations with senior-level executives
- Develop targeted strategies to convert major prospects into long-term clients
- Collaborate with marketing and sales leadership to craft compelling proposals and pitches
- Partner with internal teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of complex accounts
- Act as a voice of the customer, translating account needs into strategic business initiatives
- Provide insights and recommendations that shape DTN’s approach to large scale customers
- Serve as a thought leader, attending industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to drive brand awareness
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in strategic account management, enterprise sales, or high-value B2B client relations
- Proven ability to manage and grow multi-million-dollar accounts
- 5-8 years software or SaaS experience
- Exceptional negotiation, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills
- Ability to navigate high-level business discussions with C-suite and senior executives
- Strategic thinker with a strong ability to identify opportunities and drive business growth
- Ability to build great internal partnerships with key business units, functions and stakeholders
- A consultative and professional approach to engaging with customers
- Must be assertive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure
- Strong knowledge of working with a CRM system – Salesforce.com preferred
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities
