Job Description

Lead People Partner shaping engineering and product people strategy at M-KOPA. Supporting a fintech that expands financial inclusion across Africa.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the people agenda for M-KOPA’s Technology organisation
  • Partner with the CTO and leadership team across Engineering, Data, Analytics, IT and Security
  • Align people strategy with roadmap execution and organisational evolution
  • Hold overall accountability for people partnering across Technology and Product
  • Lead workforce planning, levelling and team transformation
  • Coach, develop and set direction for one Senior People Partner
  • Use people analytics to inform decisions on capability, attrition and cost
  • Improve performance, engagement and team dynamics in distributed, asynchronous, multi-country teams
  • Own senior and sensitive employee-relations cases
  • Report to the People Director
  • Support M-KOPA’s mission of financial inclusion through its financing model

Requirements:

  • Senior HR experience partnering with engineering organisations in a scaling technology or fintech business
  • Experience leading or formally coaching HR business partners
  • Proven organisational design experience, including levelling, spans and layers, and function redesign
  • Strategic and operational range, from long-term organisational strategy to team-level work
  • Experience supporting cross-cultural teams across multiple regions
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate people priorities into business outcomes at leadership level
  • Ability to operate with autonomy at C-level
  • Employee relations judgement across more than one jurisdiction
  • UK/Europe employment law exposure is useful but not essential
  • Must complete pre-employment background checks if selected
