Job Description
Marketing Engineer building tracking infrastructure and CRM integrations for an agency managing paid search and social campaigns for North American homebuilders. Ensuring accurate attribution across advertising platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Own the technical backbone of marketing systems, including tagging, tracking, and platform integrations across Digital Advertising, CRM, and Local SEO
- Build and troubleshoot tracking infrastructure so teams can rely on accurate data
- Build, maintain, and audit Google Tag Manager containers across client accounts
- Implement conversion tracking across Google Ads, Meta, and Bing
- Configure and maintain Meta event tracking for server-side event tracking
- Diagnose and resolve tagging discrepancies, tracking gaps, and data quality issues
- Build and maintain CRM-to-ad-platform integrations so lead and sales data flows accurately in both directions
- Manage ad platform integrations, including call tracking and connected data sources
- Partner with SEM/PPC, CRM, and Local SEO teams on attribution and reporting
- Audit and build tracking infrastructure during new client onboarding
- QA tracking implementations before campaign launches
- Document tracking setups, integration configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
- Improve and maintain tracking and configuration best practices
- Monitor ad platform pixel, API, and privacy changes and communicate impacts to the team
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in marketing technology
- Actual Google Tag Manager container-building and troubleshooting experience
- Experience implementing conversion tracking across Google Ads, Meta, and Bing
- Experience diagnosing tracking issues
- Exposure to server-side tracking or Meta CAPI, or strong willingness to become proficient quickly
- Experience with at least one CRM, such as HubSpot or Salesforce, and connecting CRM data to ad platforms
- Ability to manage tracking across multiple client accounts in an agency environment
- Troubleshooting-oriented mindset
- Four-year degree preferred, or a proven experience track record that demonstrates capability
