Job Description

Mobile Business Office Manager supporting CommuniCare’s West Virginia post-acute care facilities. Managing billing, collections, admissions, and business office staff across multiple centers.

Responsibilities:

  • Cover multiple facilities in West Virginia
  • Be based in the CommuniCare facility closest to the employee’s location
  • Travel as needed, including overnight travel, to support Business Office functions during Business Office Manager vacancies or unusually heavy workloads
  • Manage business office policies and procedures
  • Directly supervise the Assistant Business Office Manager
  • Communicate with the Executive Director, Regional Team, and Business Office Staff
  • Interact with families, attorneys, and outside agencies
  • Complete weekly BOM Admission Checklist and present it at morning stand-up
  • Verify and tie out midnight census testing daily
  • Complete admission procedures in the absence of the Admissions Coordinator
  • Conduct weekly Medicaid pending/collection blitz meetings
  • Complete root cause analysis on bad debt accounts and advise the Executive Director on issues and proposed solutions
  • Complete insurance forms as requested
  • Attend Utilization Review and/or PPS meetings as necessary
  • Supervise, organize, evaluate, and monitor business office support staff
  • Meet with residents/responsible parties upon admission and discharge regarding financial obligations
  • Coordinate timely and accurate billing and collection
  • Participate in scheduled training, education classes, and orientation programs
  • Maintain compliance with departmental, center, and home office policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards

Requirements:

  • Must have 3 - 5 years’ experience in the business office of a Long Term Care facility
  • College degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, or related field
  • Prior supervisory experience and management training
  • Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, Managed Care costing and analysis, personnel management, accounts receivable/collections, resident funds, accounts payable, general ledger, and management information systems
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Ability to deal tactfully with team members, staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
  • Willingness to seek out new methods and principles
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Must be able to travel throughout the region covered by the position
  • Must be willing to travel as needed, including overnight travel
