Job Description

Part-Time Bookkeeper at NYSHEX supporting financial operations in Cape Town. Handling bookkeeping activities and collaborating with COO and Director of Finance for accurate records.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and expense tracking.
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records in our accounting systems.
  • Prepare basic reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements.
  • Assist with month-end close tasks including data validation, journal entries, and documentation preparation.
  • Organize and maintain financial documentation for audits and compliance.
  • Support vendor setup, payments, and internal inquiries.
  • Work with the COO and Director of Finance to ensure smooth financial operations across global teams.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve accuracy.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets).
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience managing AP/AR and basic reconciliations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Comfort working with a distributed, global team.
