Job Description
Part-Time Bookkeeper at NYSHEX supporting financial operations in Cape Town. Handling bookkeeping activities and collaborating with COO and Director of Finance for accurate records.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and expense tracking.
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records in our accounting systems.
- Prepare basic reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements.
- Assist with month-end close tasks including data validation, journal entries, and documentation preparation.
- Organize and maintain financial documentation for audits and compliance.
- Support vendor setup, payments, and internal inquiries.
- Work with the COO and Director of Finance to ensure smooth financial operations across global teams.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve accuracy.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets).
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Experience managing AP/AR and basic reconciliations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
- Comfort working with a distributed, global team.
