Job Description

Payroll Coordinator supporting multi-state payroll processing, reporting, audits, and employee inquiries. Jacent operates North America’s leading impulse merchandising business.

Responsibilities:

  • Support end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees
  • Support payroll schedules and processing calendars
  • Process payroll data for new hires, transfers, promotions, pay changes, leaves of absence, and terminations
  • Review timekeeping information, monitor exceptions, and coordinate corrections
  • Maintain employee tax profiles, direct deposit information, garnishments, and PTO/Sick Time accrual records
  • Assist employees and managers with routine payroll questions and requests
  • Process employment verifications, wage garnishments, and payroll-related documentation
  • Prepare and distribute standard payroll reports and supporting documentation
  • Perform routine payroll audits and data validations
  • Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities and payroll tax filing documentation
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and internal and external audit requests
  • Participate in payroll system testing, upgrades, and process improvements
  • Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Finance, HR Systems, field leadership, and external vendors
  • Maintain payroll procedures and documentation
  • Protect confidential employee and company information and maintain payroll record integrity
  • Complete special projects and other assigned duties

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of payroll, HR, accounting, or related administrative experience
  • Experience supporting multi-state payroll environments required
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or comparable payroll systems required
  • Experience with ADP Lyric preferred
  • Experience working with integrated timekeeping, benefits, and financial systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour laws, and payroll administration processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll/HRIS systems
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and experience with reporting tools required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong customer service, written communication, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees, managers, and cross-functional business partners
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify issues and escalate complex matters appropriately
  • Ability to maintain accuracy while handling high transaction volumes and strict payroll deadlines
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred but not required
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via digital platforms
