Job Description
Payroll Manager leading multi-site North American payroll, compliance, and HRIS improvements for sustainable packaging manufacturer IPL Schoeller. Managing automation, analytics, and a geographically dispersed team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end payroll processing across multiple sites and jurisdictions
- Ensure compliance with payroll, tax, and statutory requirements
- Oversee audits, reporting, and year-end payroll activities
- Drive payroll system upgrades, integrations, and automation initiatives
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors to improve payroll operations and data accuracy
- Establish and monitor payroll KPIs and service levels
- Analyze payroll data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements
- Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed payroll team
Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience
- Experience managing multi-site and/or international payroll operations
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, and compliance requirements
- Proven success leading payroll system implementations, upgrades, or integrations
- Experience working with payroll and HRIS platforms such as ADP, Workday, SAP, or Oracle
- Advanced Excel and payroll reporting capabilities
- Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder management skills
- Professional payroll certification (CPP, FPC, CIPP, IPASS, or equivalent) preferred
- Experience in a shared services or global business services environment is a plus
