Job Description

Portfolio Marketing Manager leading a four-person team at PerkinElmer, delivering analytical-instrument marketing content, campaigns, launches, and sales enablement. Maintaining brand standards and commercial impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of four Portfolio Marketing Managers
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, set performance objectives, provide developmental feedback, and manage workload and priorities
  • Review and approve significant team outputs for technical accuracy and commercial effectiveness
  • Manage team capacity and escalate bandwidth constraints to the VP Marketing
  • Identify skills gaps and build development plans
  • Recruit and onboard Portfolio Marketing Managers as needed
  • Maintain and enforce content and brand standards across the Analytical Instruments portfolio
  • Establish content production processes, review workflows, approval chains, and version control practices
  • Set standards for product brochures, application notes, email campaigns, social media, and event materials
  • Manage external creative agencies, copywriters, and production vendors
  • Set campaign operating models, planning templates, channel playbooks, and performance reporting formats
  • Define commercial marketing deliverables and quality gates for product launches
  • Establish enablement standards for Regional Commercial Marketing Managers and the sales organization
  • Monitor campaign performance standards and feed effective practices into playbooks
  • Coordinate content and campaign activity across four product lines
  • Maintain the campaign and content calendar and provide visibility to senior marketing and product line stakeholders
  • Serve as the escalation point for conflicting priorities and urgent requests
  • Continue carrying a personal portfolio of content and campaign work
  • Own high-complexity or high-visibility deliverables such as flagship launch campaigns, executive presentations, and cross-portfolio campaign frameworks

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B marketing communications, product marketing, or content marketing
  • Demonstrated first-line people management experience with a team of 3+ people
  • Strong portfolio of B2B marketing communications work, including product launch campaigns, application content, demand generation, and digital marketing, with demonstrated commercial impact
  • Excellent written communication skills in English, with the ability to write and edit across multiple content types and technical complexity levels
  • Experience managing external creative agencies and production vendors
  • Organised, process-oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Scientific background (BSc or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related discipline) preferred
  • Experience in analytical instrumentation or life sciences marketing preferred
  • Proficiency with marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot or Marketo and commercial content management systems preferred
  • Track record of improving team output quality and throughput through process improvement preferred
