Job Description
Product Manager shaping Agile product features, roadmaps, and backlogs for PowerSchool’s cloud-based K-12 education software. Partnering with Scrum and Engineering teams to deliver customer value.
Responsibilities:
- Manage cross-functional development scope with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum teams
- Support development of product vision, goals, themes, features, roadmap, and long-term product strategy
- Participate in and help lead daily scrum ceremonies and refinement sessions
- Engage with Engineering teams to guide direction and focus
- Translate product directives into backlog items representing customer needs
- Define targeted capabilities, customer value, and functional/non-functional requirements independently of implementation
- Work closely with Development on implementation issues
- Review QA test plans for alignment with acceptance criteria
- Review relevant documentation for technical accuracy
- Communicate product release contents and expected capabilities to internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate products between departments for global visibility
- Communicate product vision to technical teams and other company teams
- Ensure features are developed according to delivered value and delivery cost
- Provide weekly project status reports to Senior Management
- Monitor impediments to release objectives and suggest corrective actions
- Advance Agile maturity and provide timely reporting to Senior Management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant and related work experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Travel occasionally, up to 10%, for key moments such as team summits, training, customer meetings, company events, etc.
- Subject to company on call policies, including working hours outside of the normal workday as needed
- Excellent understanding of Agile Values and Scrum Methodology
- Excellent ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
- Excellent ability to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions
- Excellent ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment
- Excellent understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail, while still results oriented
- Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology practices
- Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Experience with business analysis, documenting use cases or requirements gathering
