Job Description
Senior Director guiding PowerSchool’s cloud-based K-12 education software product portfolio. Leading roadmap strategy, product managers, market analysis, and cross-functional delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Guide the overall roadmap for PowerSchool’s Product portfolio
- Lead development and implementation of the product roadmap
- Manage a team of product management professionals
- Assess product needs and opportunities through research and feasibility analysis
- Gather and analyze competitive intelligence for product lines
- Participate in product modification, cost reduction, margin analysis, forecasting, product positioning, and pricing strategies
- Align roadmap plans with portfolio vision, business objectives, market needs, and the competitive environment
- Serve as a senior product expert and key resource for clients, prospects, and partners
- Work with Sales and Project Management to gather and document business requirements
- Lead the writing and curation of detailed business requirements for product and project initiatives
- Collaborate with data operations and engineering teams to execute projects and roadmap items
- Assist in creating go-to-market strategies
- Stay current with industry regulations affecting product development
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12+ years of relevant and related work experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Travel occasionally, up to 15-20%, for key moments such as team summits, training, customer meetings, company events, etc.
- Subject to company on call policies, including working hours outside of the normal workday as needed
- Experience managing and leading teams and managers
- Minimum 5-8 years of management of other professionals (performance reviews/evaluations)
- Minimum 5-7 years of product management experience with progressive growth in management and leadership responsibility
- Understanding of K12 District needs for the classroom
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle models
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects/products simultaneously
- Excellent customer-facing skills
- Ability to lead others effectively and develop team capabilities
