Job Description

Product Manager shaping features and roadmaps for PowerSchool’s cloud-based K-12 education software. Guiding Agile Scrum teams, backlog refinement, releases, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Improve organizational performance on delivering products by managing cross-functional development scope with Product Managers, Product Owners and Scrum teams
  • Support the Product Manager in developing product vision, goals, themes and features
  • Translate product vision into a product roadmap, long-term product strategy and feature development
  • Participate in and help lead daily scrum ceremonies
  • Lead refinement sessions and engage with Engineering teams to guide direction and focus
  • Translate product directives into backlog items and represent customer needs
  • Define targeted capabilities, customer value, and functional/non-functional requirements independently of implementation
  • Work closely with Development on implementation issues
  • Review QA test plans to align with acceptance criteria
  • Review relevant documentation for technical accuracy
  • Communicate product release contents and expected product capabilities and behavior to internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate products between departments for global visibility
  • Communicate product vision to technical teams and other company teams
  • Ensure correct features are developed by considering delivered value against delivery cost
  • Provide weekly project status reports to Senior Management
  • Monitor impediments to release objectives and suggest corrective actions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant and related work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • Travel occasionally, up to 10%
  • Subject to company on call policies, including working hours outside of the normal workday as needed
  • Excellent understanding of Agile Values and Scrum Methodology
  • Excellent ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
  • Excellent ability to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions
  • Excellent ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment
  • Excellent understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail, while still results oriented
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology practices
  • Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience with business analysis, documenting use cases or requirements gathering
