Job Description
Production Estimator preparing sales and production cost estimates for an Australian high-end residential construction company. Creating BOQs, take-offs, and accurate pricing while supporting remote estimating systems from the Philippines.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare preliminary estimates from concept and design development drawings
- Provide cost feedback to support design decisions
- Identify cost risks such as site conditions and structural complexity
- Assist with feasibility pricing for new projects and product development
- Align design intent with budget
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Complete take-offs from working drawings
- Apply correct rates, inclusions, and specifications
- Ensure estimates align with construction standards
- Assist with tender preparation and contract pricing
- Maintain consistency across estimates
- Review and validate quantities and rates
- Identify discrepancies in drawings and documentation
- Ensure estimates reflect realistic construction costs
- Work across multiple estimating platforms, including custom-built systems
- Improve estimating workflows and systems
- Maintain and update cost databases
- Support integration with project management and workflow tools
- Collaborate with onshore estimating and pre-construction teams
- Communicate with designers and project stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes
Requirements:
- Proven experience in residential construction estimating
- Experience in both sales estimating and production estimating
- Strong understanding of Australian residential construction methods
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience preparing BOQs and completing take-offs
- Ability to work independently in a remote support role
- Experience with Australian builders preferred
- Experience with DataBuild or similar estimating software preferred
- Strong Excel capability preferred
- Experience across multiple software platforms preferred
- Exposure to custom or integrated estimating systems preferred
- Experience with custom homes and volume housing preferred
- Strong problem-solving ability preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines preferred
- Strong communication skills preferred
- Proactive mindset and ability to identify issues early preferred
- Team-oriented approach preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel
- Experience with project management platforms such as ClickUp or Buildertrend, or similar
- Ability to learn and adapt to new or custom systems
- Must disclose existing ongoing roles or client work
- Must reflect this engagement on LinkedIn as “Independent Contractor”
