Job Description

Professional Development Coach supporting child care providers and families for CCRC. Delivering training, mentoring, compliance monitoring, and community-based services across San Bernardino County.

Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor participants
  • Provide participant training and engagement
  • Monitor and ensure compliance
  • Represent the program and agency at community outreach events, fairs, conferences, workshops, visits, meetings, and other events
  • Work professionally with clients
  • Attend and participate in professional development trainings and/or certifications
  • Submit monthly reports to the supervisor
  • Travel within CCRC’s service area for onsite visits, training, and meetings with child care providers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred, including a minimum of 24 semester units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Any combination of education and experience that enables successful performance of the position
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in child care settings
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children’s families and/or child care providers
  • Experience facilitating groups independently and/or co-facilitating groups
  • Experience working with adult learners and clients from a variety of backgrounds and communities
  • Experience with child care populations preferred
  • Hold or ability to obtain or qualify for Teacher Permit, or willingness to be trained/equivalent in units
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to converse, read, write and/or translate in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge and understanding of Child Development and standard educational practice
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to coordinate schedules and work independently with limited direction
  • Ability to complete projects under tight deadlines and adapt to competing requirements and changes
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours as program needs evolve
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, follow through, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and comply with HIPAA and PHI requirements
  • Adherence to technological security policies and legal requirements
  • Current auto insurance, current California Driver’s License, and DMV clearance required for approved drivers
  • Ability to travel for onsite visits, training, and meetings
  • Background check required
  • Additional background and health clearances may apply, including Live Scan/DOJ fingerprinting and health clearance
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Child Development or related field
  • Preferred: five years of experience in child care settings, with children’s families/providers, and facilitating groups
  • Preferred: Hold or ability to obtain or qualify for Site Supervisor Permit
