Job Description
Project Manager for Surplex managing industrial auctions across Switzerland. Responsible for logistics, client interactions, and ensuring auction success with a local presence.
Responsibilities:
- As Project Manager (m/f/d) you are the face of Surplex on site at our auctions.
- You are responsible for the content preparation and operational execution of our industrial auctions at various locations in Switzerland — always aiming to achieve the highest customer satisfaction and the best possible results.
- You catalogue machines and equipment at the seller’s site, ensure a professional presentation (including photos, descriptions and valuations) and coordinate all logistics related to inspection and collection days.
- You organise external service providers (e.g., for cleaning or disposal/scrapping), manage on-site escalations and ensure smooth operations — for both sellers and buyers.
- With a good eye for detail and a clear focus on key metrics (e.g., number of lots, conversion, final bid values) you actively contribute to auction success and continuously improve our processes.
- You work closely with our sales, marketing and project teams.
Requirements:
- Completed technical or business-related qualification
- Relevant professional experience as a project manager, service technician or similar role in an industrial environment
- Basic machine knowledge, ideally in metal or wood processing, construction, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture or similar sectors
- Good English skills, both spoken and written; additional European languages (especially Italian and French) are an advantage
- Strong organisational skills, self-responsibility and a structured way of working
- Strong communication skills, customer orientation and ability to work in a team
- High willingness to travel within Switzerland
- Technical affinity; confident using IT systems and MS Office
