Job Description
Retirement Counselor providing financial education and assistance to retirement plan participants. Supporting investment advisory services and collaborating with Benefits Center teams.
Responsibilities:
- Interacting with retirement plan participants through multiple channels needing assistance with retirement plan rollovers.
- Supporting investment advisory services.
- Explaining investment services available to participants with the goal to direct them to the correct service.
- Providing financial education related to various retirement plan topics.
- Interviewing individuals to gather required information, review planning suggestions, and deliver the right solution to the individual.
- Making warm outbound calls to customers interested in the creation of an account or in our programs.
- Explaining employer-based retirement plan requirements and basic IRS regulations related to 401(k) transactions to retirement plan participants.
- Collaborating with Benefits Center Customer Care teams to enhance customer experience.
- Providing education on IRA accounts, Advisory products, and best practices.
- Identifying strategies to improve referrals and facilitate reciprocal sharing of knowledge.
- Engaging with customers to handle account inquiries and update information.
- Providing assistance with trading activities and respond to customer inquiries.
- Troubleshooting basic technical issues and offer product and service literature.
- Participating in the process of setting up new accounts and maintaining accounts for customers.
- Accurately recording account openings and other transactions in our record keeping database.
Requirements:
- Have FINRA Series 7 and 65/66 or able to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Have undergraduate degree and minimum of 5 years financial industry experience.
- Have experience in delivering retirement planning and investment advisory services required.
- Have ability to educate callers on complex retirement and investment concepts is necessary.
- Also, rapport building and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Possess active listening skills to understand both articulated and unarticulated needs of the client.
- Possess ability to ask relevant probing questions to better assess customer needs.
- Also, use data to persuade and influence customers to objectively guide them.
- Possess ability to utilize conceptual thinking to identify patterns, apply concepts and clarify complex information.
