Job Description

Sales Manager leading strategic account management and customer engagement in Sydney for global science leader Agilent Technologies. Driving growth through strong relationship building and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary sales leader for major Sydney-based strategic accounts
  • Lead executive-level engagement with key decision-makers
  • Conduct regular business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and escalation management
  • Drive growth across strategic accounts by identifying expansion opportunities
  • Improve customer experience by ensuring rapid, localized responsiveness
  • Provide daily on-the-ground leadership to the Sydney sales team
  • Deliver structured coaching, mentoring, and field engagement to support newer account managers
  • Manage performance expectations and oversee part-time employees
  • Build a cohesive, high-performing culture focused on accountability
  • Lead the strategic development of the Sydney market
  • Collaborate with other business units to support multi-division initiatives
  • Monitor competitive activity and execute strategies to protect and grow market share
  • Strengthen coordination with service, marketing, and technical teams based in Sydney
  • Ensure high service performance and customer satisfaction through proactive engagement
  • Lead escalations directly with customers and internal teams to ensure timely resolution
  • Strengthen employee morale and retention by providing consistent leadership presence
  • Represent the company as the senior commercial leader in Sydney

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree or equivalent plus directly relevant experience
  • 5-10 years' experience formally leading people, projects and/or programs for entry to this level
  • Proven experience in strategic account leadership, preferably in a complex B2B environment
  • Strong capability in team leadership, coaching, and organizational stabilization
  • Ability to engage senior customer stakeholders with executive presence
  • Deep commercial acumen and a track record of delivering growth
  • Excellent problem-solving, operational discipline, and communication skills
  • Willingness to be field-facing, agile, and customer-centric daily
