Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst analyzing VSP Vision’s corporate finances, budgets, forecasts, and performance. Recommending strategic and cost-control improvements across financial systems and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex financial analysis of company expenses, income, and other business results
  • Research and analyze corporate business and financial information
  • Make recommendations and assist in establishing the company’s strategic direction
  • Analyze and report fluctuations in financial and business results, identify trends, and research variances
  • Compare actual financial results with budgeted amounts and advise management on cost impacts
  • Recommend corrective actions to improve company performance and resolve issues
  • Assist with company budgets and financial forecasts for business plans
  • Monitor department expenses and identify trends to support cost control
  • Recommend changes to streamline accounting systems and processes
  • Prepare reports on income, expenses, earnings, and the company’s financial position
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports and statistics for management
  • Assist with reviewing and evaluating performance evaluations to provide coaching and feedback
  • Apply developments in financial planning and control to improve financial systems and processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Six years of related financial analysis experience
  • Ability to conduct cost-benefit and alternative analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications and mainframe accounting systems
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work under strict deadlines
  • Strong business aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of financial and operational planning processes and best practices
  • Strong work ethic and flexible work style
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to navigate complex situations with multiple stakeholders
  • Decision-making ability with balanced consideration of business issues
  • Clean credit history as reported by credit report
  • For remote or hybrid roles, high engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings
  • Preferred: Experience in Insurance, Optometry, Ophthalmology, or traditional Medical FP&A
  • Preferred: Strong Excel experience
  • Preferred: Experience with SAP, Oracle Planning, Acumatica, Power BI, Workday, or Paylocity
