Job Description
IT Finance Intern supporting close, forecasting, reporting, and financial modeling at The Standard insurance company. Fully remote U.S. internship with cross-team exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Support monthly close activities, including accrual preparation, financial reconciliations, and actual-to-forecast variance analysis
- Assist with monthly forecasting processes, including forecast preparation and Apptio forecast submissions
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly financial reporting packages and management reports
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis, research, and IT financial modeling to support business decisions
- Review IT contracts and perform financial research to evaluate accounting and budgetary impacts
- Contribute to process documentation and improvement initiatives
- Gain exposure to executive leadership and strategic business discussions
- Work under one manager overseeing day-to-day activities, with potential collaboration across several divisional teams
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student for the duration of the internship
- Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and students pursuing advanced degrees may apply
- Sponsorship is not available for this internship opportunity
- Preferred majors in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated through previous work experience and/or course of study
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook
- Experience with AI tools preferred
- Interest, exposure, or experience in IT financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocations, operational performance analysis, and data reporting
- Experience with data integration and Power BI is a plus
- Must pass criminal background investigation and employment, education, and licensing verification
- Must be bondable
