Job Description
Senior investigations manager building GiveDirectly’s central misconduct investigations hub. Leading complex cases, standards, reporting, and scalable technology across its global cash-transfer programs.
Responsibilities:
- Establish the Central Intake and Investigations Hub across the organisation
- Build relationships with the People team, Internal Audit, Safeguarding, HR Managers, and Country Directors
- Refine intake, triage, and case allocation processes
- Lead the most complex investigations and produce findings reports and recommendations
- Define investigation standards and quality assure investigations led by other teams
- Provide oversight and support for staff-related matters handled by Internal Audit or Safeguarding
- Determine organisational investigation training needs and direction
- Create and maintain the central system of record for staff matters
- Run regular reporting and calibration with internal stakeholders and sign off on relevant internal and external reporting
- Shape case management systems and controls
- Identify practical uses of automation and AI for triage, documentation, and reporting
- Recruit, manage, and develop future Program Manager roles
- Build the function so it scales with organisational growth
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience leading workplace (misconduct) investigations, including matters involving senior staff and allegations of sexual misconduct
- Experience running investigations end to end, from terms of reference to findings report
- Experience setting investigation standards and quality assuring other people's work
- Working understanding of employee relations and the boundary between investigation and employment decisions
- Experience across multiple countries and legal contexts
- Trauma-informed and survivor-centred practice
- Experience setting up or improving investigative systems, building reporting from case data, or introducing tools that changed team workflows
- Professional fluency in English
- Professional working proficiency in one of French, Swahili, or Portuguese
- Exceptional alignment with GiveDirectly Values and active demonstration of emotional intelligence, problem solving, project management, follow-through, and fostering inclusivity
- Ability to overlap with an East Africa timezone by at least 3 hours and meaningfully overlap with US Eastern hours
- Ability to work remotely from an eligible country
- Must not require employer sponsorship or transfer of employment visas in the U.S. or U.K.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally and unpredictably to team meetings, co-locations, or countries of operation
- Successful completion of reference, criminal background, sanctions, and misconduct-related checks
