Job Description
Senior People Generalist managing HR operations, compliance, benefits, and employee lifecycle processes for ShipBob’s India fulfillment technology platform. Supporting HRBPs, employee relations, engagement, and AI-enabled process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate employee records across HRIS and People systems, flagging and correcting discrepancies
- Process employment, confirmation, and employment verification letters and approved compensation changes with proper documentation retention
- Administer the XOXO voucher process and support the SPIFF reward program
- Support India benefits administration and Provident Fund, Pension Scheme, and other statutory filings
- Own audit readiness through HR file audits, compliance postings, and statutory audit preparation
- Monitor compliance and training completion, follow up on deadlines, and support POSH training logistics
- Run People reports and support HRBPs with data extraction and formatting for leadership decks and dashboards
- Facilitate new-hire orientation and educate employees on benefits, policies, and HR processes
- Conduct new-hire connects, track probation and confirmation timelines, and flag deadlines
- Support end-to-end offboarding, including HRIS updates, payroll notifications, exit coordination, interviews, and data collation
- Support performance management processes, outcome tracking, manager communications, and documentation
- Help employees navigate career-planning resources and escalate development conversations to HRBPs
- Serve as first point of contact for employee and manager queries, resolving routine matters and escalating complex issues
- Support employee-relations investigations confidentially and maintain India ER and AllVoices tracking
- Support employee engagement activities, recognition programmes, Culture Committee coordination, surveys, communications, and internal HR content
- Support training content development and delivery with HRBPs and OED
- Use Claude, Replit, and other AI tools for drafting, reporting, content creation, data analysis, and workflows
- Identify and build or propose AI-assisted and automated People Operations solutions
- Support AI-enabled People tools, portals, and dashboards and share emerging AI learnings
- Report to the Senior Manager HRBP
Requirements:
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Human Resources, HR Operations, or a generalist people role
- Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, such as ADP or equivalent
- Comfortable learning new systems quickly
- Solid understanding of India HR compliance basics, including Provident Fund, POSH, and Labour code regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accurate, timely execution across multiple workstreams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and professionalism
- Proficient Excel skills
- Passion for leveraging AI and comfort running reports, formatting data, and supporting analysis
- High integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to establish rapport and trusting relationships quickly
- Ability to take action in ambiguous situations
- Ability to deliver training solutions as required
- Ability to handle and manage matters effectively
