Job Description

Application Consultant implementing and optimizing BusinessPlus ERP for PowerSchool’s cloud-based K-12 education software customers. Configuring finance modules, leading client implementations, training users, and providing post-go-live support.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, configure, train, and support the BusinessPlus ERP system, focusing on Finance, Procurement, or related modules
  • Lead or support implementation of BusinessPlus modules
  • Configure system settings, tables, and business rules based on client requirements
  • Translate functional requirements into system configuration and design specifications
  • Support data conversion activities, including validation and reconciliation assistance
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and requirement-gathering meetings
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices and system capabilities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients during implementation and post-go-live
  • Manage client expectations and communicate progress, risks, and issues
  • Develop and execute test plans, including unit, system, and UAT support
  • Troubleshoot functional issues and collaborate with technical teams for resolution
  • Develop training materials and deliver end-user and administrator training
  • Create and maintain process flows, configuration guides, and other documentation
  • Support knowledge transfer to clients and internal teams
  • Provide go-live support and stabilization assistance
  • Assist with issue resolution, enhancements, optimization requests, client adoption, and system improvements
  • Collaborate with technical, project management, and client stakeholders
  • Deliver project milestones on time and within scope

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant and related work experience
  • 3–7+ years of experience implementing or supporting ERP systems
  • Hands-on experience with BusinessPlus (preferred) or similar ERP platforms
  • Strong functional knowledge in Finance (GL, AP, AR, Budgeting)
  • Experience with data conversion, testing, and system configuration
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience supporting or implementing ERP solutions, preferably within finance or business operations
  • Ability to travel occasionally, up to 25–30%, with increased frequency during peak periods
  • Additional experience may substitute for an advanced degree
  • Experience working with public sector or K-12 clients (preferred)
  • Familiarity with payroll compliance requirements, multi-state preferred
  • Knowledge of reporting tools and queries within BusinessPlus (preferred)
  • Exposure to integrations, interfaces, or data migration tools (preferred)
  • Project implementation experience in a consulting environment
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
  • Strong organization and time management skills across multiple projects
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
  • Proactive risk identification and issue resolution
