Job Description
Senior Shopify Plus Developer scaling an Australian fine jewellery retailer’s high-volume Shopify Plus platform. Building integrations, optimizing performance, and modernizing storefront workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the ongoing technical development, performance, and scaling of the high-volume Shopify Plus store
- Build, customize, and optimize high-converting Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Build and maintain custom API integrations connecting Shopify Plus with ERP, POS, CRM, inventory, and fulfillment platforms using GraphQL, REST APIs, and webhooks
- Diagnose technical issues and improve page speed metrics, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and storefront stability
- Support large-scale product launches, multivariate catalog setups, custom metafields/metaobjects, and bulk catalogue operations using Matrixify
- Upgrade and innovate storefront workflows using Shopify Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, Shopify Flow, and custom app features
- Manage technical workflows, code reviews, deployment environments, automated testing, and version control using Git
- Report directly to the Australia-based Head of Digital & eCommerce as part of the Digital & eCommerce team
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional web development experience with a strong focus on Shopify Plus and Liquid theme development
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end workflows
- Hands-on experience developing custom integrations using Shopify GraphQL APIs, REST APIs, and Webhooks
- Deep experience managing complex product structures, variants, metafields, metaobjects, and bulk catalogue imports
- Strong mastery of Git version control workflows and deployment pipelines
- Proven root-cause debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate complex technical issues
- Applications must be submitted in English
- This role is open to PH citizens only
- Bonus: Hands-on experience with Shopify Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, or custom app development using Node.js, React, or TypeScript
- Bonus: Experience with search/merchandising platforms such as Algolia, marketing automation tools such as Klaviyo, GA4, and GTM, or booking systems
- Bonus: Background in ERP, POS, inventory system integrations, or bulk catalogue tools like Matrixify
