Job Description
Solar technician repairing utility-scale PV systems for Pearce, a technology-enabled critical infrastructure services provider. Troubleshooting inverters, performing O&M, and traveling continuously to solar farm sites.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits
- Perform LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans
- Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule
- Perform operations and maintenance on utility-scale solar plants
- Inspect completed work for quality and safety compliance
- Enforce OSHA and NFPA 70E safety requirements on-site
- Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field
- Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation
- Operate and maintain the company vehicle and tools
- Train and support junior technicians in the field
Requirements:
- 3+ years of utility-scale solar experience (solar farms / ground-mount systems)
- Experience working on megawatt-scale PV systems
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills, including inverters, DC systems, and power electronics
- Experience with Solar O&M / maintenance work
- Working knowledge of OSHA / NFPA 70E safety standards
- Experience using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and testing equipment
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to travel 100% to solar farm sites
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must follow all OSHA and company safety requirements
