Job Description

Solar technician repairing and maintaining utility-scale PV systems for Pearce’s infrastructure services business. Leading field crews, troubleshooting inverters, and traveling 100% to solar farm sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits
  • Perform LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans
  • Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule
  • Perform operations and maintenance on utility-scale solar plants
  • Inspect completed work and ensure quality and safety standards
  • Enforce OSHA and NFPA 70E safety requirements on-site
  • Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field
  • Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation
  • Operate and maintain the company vehicle and tools
  • Train and support junior technicians in the field

Requirements:

  • 4-5+ years of utility-scale solar experience
  • Experience leading crews or acting as lead tech on-site
  • Experience working on megawatt-scale PV systems
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills, including inverters, DC systems, and power electronics
  • Experience with Solar O&M / maintenance work
  • Working knowledge of OSHA / NFPA 70E safety standards
  • Experience using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and testing equipment
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 100% to solar farm sites
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must follow all OSHA and company safety requirements
