Job Description

Vice President leading mission-critical data center development for QTS, a global digital infrastructure company. Overseeing regional sites, design, construction, budgets, and strategic development projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for one region within the QTS footprint
  • Perform site evaluations and recommend site selections
  • Lead development teams with Basis of Design for future data center deployments, construction projects, and upgrades
  • Oversee expansion and renovation projects across the region
  • Create master development programs for sites with QTS stakeholders, design, and construction teams
  • Oversee site development plans to achieve time, budget, and quality standards
  • Oversee design and construction, commissioning services, procurement, and project cost estimates
  • Develop product deployment plans and communicate them with QTS staff
  • Collaborate with Sales and Deal teams on new and existing buildouts
  • Lead QTS pursuit teams in identifying, evaluating, and attracting profitable deals
  • Create cost-effective rapid development deals for hyperscale data center deployments
  • Represent QTS interests as leader in OAC meetings
  • Build relationships that enhance QTS's data center real estate leadership
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to direct reports
  • Improve project management processes and protocols with internal teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical/Architectural Engineering or other related field
  • Ten or more years of experience within mission critical facilities
  • Experience in the REIT/Data Center industry
  • Extensive experience with management of MEP trades
  • Proven history demonstrating strong leadership skills, deep practical engineering knowledge, timely project delivery, project management, cost control, and customer satisfaction
  • Corporate real estate and tax experience
  • Rapid construction development and deployment experience
  • More than ten years of mission critical data center development experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to foster and operate well within internal and external team environments
  • Keen planning skills and ability to lead through influence
  • Ability to solve problems at a tactical and functional level
