Job Description

Vice President leading Epic EHR optimization, transformation strategy, and cross-functional delivery for Med-Metrix healthcare clients. Driving workflow, revenue cycle, clinical, and financial performance improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for optimizing clients’ Epic electronic health record platform
  • Define and own the Epic optimization and transformation strategy and multi-year roadmap
  • Lead cross-functional teams of Epic analysts, application coordinators, and consultants across multiple Epic modules
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, diverse team
  • Assess Epic configuration and workflows to identify opportunities improving revenue yield, cash acceleration, denials, productivity, and user and patient experience
  • Oversee design, build, testing, and deployment of Epic enhancements, upgrades, and new module implementations
  • Partner with revenue cycle leadership to translate KPIs into Epic-enabled workflow, automation, and analytics improvements and quantify financial impact
  • Establish governance, change control, and prioritization processes for Epic build requests and transformation projects
  • Serve as executive point of contact and technical expert for clients, providing status reports, strategic recommendations, and executive presentations
  • Report system performance, adoption, and workflow trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Develop and manage program budgets, resource plans, and vendor relationships
  • Stay current on Epic releases, functionality, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • Mentor and develop team members and build Epic optimization capability
  • Support Business Development with Epic assessments, solutioning, opportunity identification, scoping, and client presentations
  • Maintain knowledge of healthcare issues and regulations and comply with organizational policies
  • Establish realistic goals and priorities aligned with organizational objectives
  • Protect and use patients’ PHI in accordance with HIPAA standards and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies

Requirements:

  • BS in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required; MBA, MHA, or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible healthcare IT leadership roles, with significant experience leading Epic implementation, optimization, or transformation programs required
  • Epic certification(s) or proficiency in one or more Epic applications (e.g., Resolute HB/PB, Cadence, Prelude, EpicCare, Grand Central) strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale, cross-functional Epic optimization or transformation initiatives with measurable operational and financial results
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, clinical workflows, and how Epic configuration impacts reimbursement, denials, and the patient experience
  • Knowledge of governmental, legal and regulatory provisions related to healthcare data, billing, and EHR use
  • Ability to understand complex system configurations and reimbursement structures and apply them to workflow design
  • Experience with program and project management methodologies, governance, and change management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across complex, matrixed organizations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
