Job Description
JLL VP managing cost planning, estimating, and financial oversight for large-scale data center infrastructure. Leading value engineering, cost control, client advisory, and cost management teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cost management and financial oversight for mission-critical data center infrastructure projects
- Develop strategic cost plans, detailed estimates, feasibility studies, cost models, and budget scenarios
- Analyze electrical, mechanical cooling, fire suppression, building envelope, and supporting infrastructure costs
- Lead value engineering workshops and evaluate design, equipment, construction methodology, and lifecycle cost alternatives
- Establish cost management frameworks, tracking systems, and reporting protocols
- Monitor budgets, cost trends, contingencies, change orders, payment applications, reconciliations, and variances
- Coordinate with procurement teams on equipment pricing, delivery schedules, and vendor contract negotiations
- Provide market intelligence and advise clients on procurement, phasing, schedule optimization, labor, materials, and regional cost variations
- Serve as primary cost advisor to clients, project teams, design consultants, and construction managers
- Present cost reports, forecasts, and recommendations to executive stakeholders
- Lead and mentor cost managers, estimators, and analysts
- Develop standardized processes, estimating tools, and data center cost databases
- Support business development, client relationship management, and proposal development
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, architecture, or related field
- 12+ years of cost management/estimating experience with substantial focus on data center or mission-critical facilities
- Expert knowledge of data center construction costs, including electrical systems, mechanical cooling systems, fire suppression, and building envelope requirements
- Proven experience managing costs for large-scale projects ($100M+ capital value) with complex MEP systems
- Deep understanding of Uptime Institute Tier classifications, TIA-942, and ASHRAE TC 9.9
- Demonstrated expertise in CostX, Bluebeam, RSMeans, or similar cost estimating software and tools
- Strong financial acumen, including budget development, cost forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial reporting
- Experience with design-build, construction management, and lump-sum delivery methods in data center environments
- Exceptional analytical skills and ability to present actionable insights
- Outstanding client relationship management and executive-level communication capabilities
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
