Job Description

Workday Product Architect designing scalable HCM and Payroll architecture for Medical College of Wisconsin. Leading configuration, compliance, stakeholder initiatives, and complex troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of scalable and secure HR/Payroll system architecture aligned with organizational goals, business needs, and compliance requirements
  • Act as consultant and project manager for assigned initiatives
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings with Finance, HR, IS, and business leaders to elicit requirements, evaluate and recommend solutions, build alignment, manage project activities, and ensure successful implementation and outcomes
  • Optimize business processes using Workday HR/Payroll functionalities and automation capabilities
  • Define security frameworks for HR/Payroll modules
  • Provide guidance on data governance, internal controls, and audit compliance within Workday
  • Oversee complex configuration and system changes, ensuring best practices and minimal disruption
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of high-complexity system issues escalated by support or operations teams
  • Maintain documentation of HR/Payroll system architecture, integration designs, and process flows
  • Mentor and support consulting and technical teams involved in Workday HR/Payroll troubleshooting and enhancements
  • Stay current with Workday updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies to suggest continuous improvements
  • Ensure alignment across Workday modules and touchpoints with other systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis
  • 8+ years of progressive experience working with Workday platforms
  • Significant hands-on expertise in Core HCM and at least two of the following modules: Payroll, Absence, Timetracking, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Learning
  • 3+ years of experience in a Workday architectural or lead configuration role
  • Proven expertise in system architecture
  • Solid understanding of HR and Payroll principles and business processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, cross-module issues
  • Experience collaborating with senior HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to define and deliver Workday strategy
  • Workday Core HCM certification preferred
  • Workday Payroll Certification preferred
