Job Description

Account Manager selling integrated security, fire alarm, and building automation solutions for Convergint. Developing construction and facilities-services clientele through proposals, sales strategies, and project oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell core business integrated solutions for service and installation projects
  • Evaluate and target potential customer opportunities within the marketplace
  • Develop and implement sales marketing strategies across education, healthcare, industrial, and commercial building markets
  • Focus on consultants, owners, and building managers, supported by contractor business, to develop new clientele
  • Translate customer needs into detailed proposals and project plans
  • Review and approve estimated costs prior to bids and change proposals
  • Assist with project collections
  • Communicate project requirements to project teams and the wider organization
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Communicate project schedules, change proposals, and related activities with customers
  • Improve customer satisfaction continuously
  • Manage execution and review of customer contract scope, terms, and conditions
  • Control costs, delivery fulfillment, service quality, and other customer requirements
  • Coach and mentor developing colleagues as needed
  • Perform other requested or required duties
  • Participate in Convergint’s Recruit Awesome People program by referring talent

Requirements:

  • High School/GED or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • 5+ years account development, sales, or related experience
  • 3+ years of experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
  • Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong sales skills and ability to uncover effective customer solutions
  • Solid teamwork skills
  • Proactive initiative and adaptability
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles
  • Industry-specific certifications and/or licenses preferred but not required
