Job Description
Area Sales Manager selling Intuitive’s da Vinci robotic surgical systems to hospitals across Sweden. Managing capital-equipment sales, hospital advocacy, executive engagement, and territory growth.
Responsibilities:
- Sell the da Vinci Surgical System to greenfield and existing hospitals within the assigned territory
- Manage complex sales processes for new hospital systems and upgrades
- Build clinical and administrative support through technical presentations, executive meetings, marketing events, and system test drives
- Build support from surgeons and hospital administration for da Vinci Surgery
- Identify key institutions, generate market awareness, and drive territory sales
- Transition initial sales and installations to the clinical sales team to drive procedural volume and growth
- Achieve quarterly sales targets
- Partner with the da Vinci Area Sales Director to develop a local territory sales plan
- Build surgical advocacy teams at each hospital
- Develop initial contact with CEOs and senior hospital administrators
- Organize and manage the sales process
- Develop expert-level knowledge of primary operating-room procedures
- Make the business case for system purchases
- Resolve contractual issues and coordinate system installation after purchase approval
- Handle communications and administrative follow-up
- Collaborate across the Intuitive commercial organization on people, processes, and pipeline opportunities
- Implement early-stage new-product launch strategies to accelerate procedures and capital placements
- Develop executive activities such as round tables and executive sessions
- Participate in designing QTI and BAM content and defining approaches with targeted customers
- Participate actively in weekly and quarterly territory sales planning
- Manage expenses within budget
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience; preference for healthcare or capital sales experience
- Knowledge of the operating room environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven successful project management
- Proven successful track record in capital medical equipment sales
- Proven track record of high performance and collaboration in various sales roles
- Strong account management and value selling
- Collaborative leadership and influence management
- Ability to foster creative solutions and idea sharing
- Ability to travel up to 80%, dependent upon account distribution
- Fluent in English and local language as required
- Sales management experience is a plus
- Success introducing new technologies to the market is a plus
