Job Description
Business Development Manager expanding Hexagon Mining’s safety, fleet, and autonomous technology solutions across Europe. Developing strategic accounts and complex B2B opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a business development strategy for the European market aligned with Hexagon Mining’s regional growth objectives
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities across surface and underground mining operations
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, decision-makers, technical stakeholders, partners, and industry influencers
- Understand customers’ operational challenges, strategic priorities, and investment plans, and position Hexagon solutions accordingly
- Drive new customer acquisition and expand Hexagon’s footprint within existing strategic accounts
- Lead opportunities from initial engagement and qualification through solution positioning, proposal development, negotiation, and closure
- Deliver customer presentations, demonstrations, business cases, and commercial proposals
- Collaborate with Account Management, Product, Technical, Marketing, Services, and Customer Success teams
- Manage complex commercial negotiations, including pricing, contractual terms, and strategic agreements
- Maintain accurate opportunity and pipeline information in the CRM and provide forecasting and reporting
- Monitor market developments, mining investment activity, competitive positioning, and emerging technologies
- Represent Hexagon Mining at customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and strategic engagements across Europe
- Contribute to regional strategy, account planning, and long-term market development initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Technology, Business, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business development, technical sales, or enterprise technology sales
- Strong understanding of the mining industry, including mine operations, operational challenges, and technology adoption
- Demonstrated track record of developing new business and managing complex B2B sales opportunities
- Ability to understand technical solutions and translate capabilities into operational and commercial value
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and commercial skills
- Strategic and proactive approach to identifying, developing, and converting opportunities
- Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable operating independently across a geographically dispersed market
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional and international teams
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Professional fluency in English
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Europe
- MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is desired
- Fluency in German and/or another European language is desired
- Previous commercial experience within European and Nordic mining markets is desired
- Knowledge of Fleet Management Systems (FMS), Operator Alertness Systems (OAS), Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS), and related operational or safety technologies is desired
- Existing relationships and professional network within the European mining industry is desired
- Experience selling enterprise-level technology solutions involving multiple technical and commercial stakeholders is desired
