Job Description
Business Development Representative supporting outbound sales efforts in logistics for regulated goods. Engaging DTC and B2B brands to generate new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, networking, and targeted account prospecting.
- Identify and engage DTC and B2B brands in need of compliant fulfillment and logistics solutions.
- Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospective customers within regulated product industries.
- Generate leads by identifying customer needs, operational requirements, and decision-making processes.
- Conduct initial discovery conversations and coordinate handoff of qualified opportunities to senior sales team members for advanced sales discussions and closing activities.
- Support account-based sales initiatives targeting strategic customers and high-growth markets.
- Maintain consistent communication with prospects throughout the early sales cycle.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to support onboarding readiness and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline updates, prospect activity tracking, and sales reporting.
- Maintain awareness of state-by-state regulations related to hemp, nicotine products, and other regulated goods.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and virtual conferences as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales development, inside sales, lead generation, or a related role.
- Proven experience with outbound prospecting and pipeline generation.
- Strong cold calling, email outreach, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of DTC and B2B fulfillment, including pick/pack, shipping, and inventory workflows.
- Exposure to regulated goods (nicotine, hemp, alcohol beverage, pharma, or similar) is a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance considerations across state lines, or the ability to quickly learn regulatory requirements.
- Ability to effectively explain moderately complex concepts to prospective customers.
- Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage pipeline and sales activities independently.
- Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
- Experience using CRM tools such as Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar.
