Job Description

Business Process Improvement Manager overseeing lean transformation and operational excellence at Medtronic. Collaborating with teams to implement sustainable process improvements and achieve key performance metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma)
  • Diagrams and evaluates existing processes
  • Organizes, leads and facilitates cross-functional project teams
  • Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities
  • Collects data to identify root cause of problems
  • Measures performance against process requirements
  • Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls
  • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality
  • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control
  • Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes
  • Communicates team progress
  • Performs cost and benefit analyses

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR An advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience
  • 3+ years of dedicated Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence (OpEx) implementation experience, driving measurable improvements in productivity, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Experience leading transactional and business process improvement initiatives across functions such as distribution centers, supply chain, quality, finance, operations, HR, or shared services
  • Advanced Lean or Six Sigma certification (e.g., Black Belt, Master Black Belt)
  • Previous consulting experience in operational excellence or process transformation
  • Demonstrated success leading projects in highly regulated industries (e.g., medical device, pharma, aerospace, automotive)
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Minitab)
  • Change management certification or significant experience with organizational change initiatives
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills for executive and frontline audiences
  • Experience developing and delivering training for Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies
  • Multilingual abilities, especially Spanish, due to international travel and cross-border collaboration
  • Familiarity with digital transformation, Industry 4.0, or advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Track record of mentoring or coaching other process improvement professionals
  • Experience with succession planning and talent development
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost/benefit analysis and budget management
  • High adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
