Job Description

Data Strategy and Performance Manager at Empower measuring enterprise data strategy impact on financial outcomes. Responsibilities include executive communication and aligning metrics to business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the enterprise Data Strategy KPI framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Align data and AI metrics to financial outcomes including AUM growth, participant retention, operational efficiency, and regulatory readiness
  • Establish outcome based measurement approaches that prioritize business impact over activity based metrics
  • Quantify ROI of data and AI investments through financial modeling and business case development
  • Model revenue influence, cost reduction, and risk mitigation impacts in partnership with Finance
  • Develop defensible methodologies for value measurement and attribution
  • Create executive ready and board ready presentations, including monthly and quarterly ELT materials
  • Translate complex technical initiatives into clear, concise executive narratives that highlight trends, trade offs, and risks
  • Drive alignment on performance targets and investment priorities across senior stakeholders
  • Establish KPI governance standards to prevent metric sprawl and ensure consistent definitions
  • Identify and monitor leading indicators of underperformance across data and AI initiatives
  • Escalate strategic risks and recommend course corrections when performance diverges from targets

Requirements:

  • 6 to 10 years of experience in strategy, performance management, consulting, corporate FP&A, or enterprise analytics
  • Strong financial modeling and business case development experience
  • Experience supporting executive or board level reporting
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and narrative synthesis skills
  • Ability to translate technical initiatives into measurable business outcomes
  • Experience in financial services or retirement services
