Job Description
Content strategy director shaping College Board’s digital assessment platform. Owning product content, information architecture, editorial operations, and AI-enabled content workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Own and define content strategy for one or more areas of College Board’s digital assessment platform
- Set content approaches, define quality standards, prioritize work, and own outcomes across assigned domains
- Create user-centered product content, including UI copy, instructions, onboarding flows, and contextual help
- Develop shared content standards covering voice, tone, terminology, and accessibility
- Translate user research, analytics, and feedback into content hypotheses and iterative improvements
- Manage content workstreams independently across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Own and evolve information architecture, navigation models, taxonomies, labeling systems, and content structures
- Partner with UX designers and content engineers
- Lead discovery, design critiques, and cross-functional workshops
- Design and improve editorial workflows, content operations, and governance processes
- Perform hands-on CMS content entry, structuring, and lifecycle management
- Evaluate and shape AI tools for content discovery, drafting, and workflow efficiency
- Provide evidence-backed recommendations to the Senior Director on strategy and priorities
- Develop shared approaches, templates, and best practices for the content strategy practice
- Lead content messaging updates during test administration windows for widespread user issues
- Support onboarding and collaboration as the team grows
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, or product content design
- Experience ideally in complex digital product or platform environments
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Portfolio demonstrating clarity, judgment, and range across digital product contexts
- Experience working closely with UX designers on information architecture and content structure
- Ability to independently own and drive content work in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Familiarity with editorial workflows and content operations
- Hands-on experience with CMS platforms and content management processes
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Comfort operating in iterative, evolving environments
- Ability to travel 3–5 times a year to College Board offices or on College Board business
- Authorization to work in the United States

- Preferred: background in content governance or lifecycle management
