Job Description
Director of Business Development leading sales strategy and client acquisition efforts for digital agency. Engaging with retail and DTC brands to drive growth and revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the end-to-end sales process: prospecting, pitching, proposal development, and closing.
- Cultivate new enterprise and mid-market client relationships, especially within digital-first and DTC brands.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline via cold outreach, referrals, and strategic networking.
- Partner with strategy and client service teams to craft custom proposals aligned with client objectives.
- Represent the agency at major events, conferences, and partner summits.
- Stay informed on digital trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with marketing and leadership to refine go-to-market strategies.
- Identify market opportunities and inform service or positioning innovations.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of proven success in sales or business development within a digital agency, consultancy, or martech company.
- Consistent track record of exceeding $1M+ in annual new business targets.
- Deep, well-maintained network in the digital/eCommerce space and across retail, DTC, or CPG brands.
- Self-starter with a true “hunter” mentality—driven, strategic, and results-oriented.
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in CRM and sales platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Solid understanding of digital marketing, omnichannel strategy, paid media, CRM, or analytics.
