Job Description
Community Pharmacist providing medication counseling, dispensing, and specialty pharmacy support for St. Charles Health System patients. Supervising technicians and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmaceutical care to patients
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation, storage, billing, labeling, and distribution of medications under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager
- Provide medication counseling, monitoring, drug utilization review, and patient assessments
- Ensure accurate labeling, packaging, compounding, billing, verification, and delivery of medications
- Support the specialty pharmacy program and meet or exceed accreditation standards
- Purchase, receive, store, and process inventory
- Maintain accurate computerized medication profiles
- Supervise and coordinate assigned pharmacy technicians preparing, labeling, and delivering medications and pharmaceutical supplies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations for dispensing drugs and controlled drugs and maintaining required records
- Support the organization’s vision, mission, values, Lean principles, and continuous improvement activities
- Provide and maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests
- Conduct activities professionally and confidentially while supporting corporate integrity efforts
- Deliver timely, efficient, accurate customer service and patient care
- Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy
- Current registration by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely
- Ability to stand and walk continually (75% or more)
- Ability to carry 1–10 pounds continually
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for caregivers who are couriers
- Ability to lift 1–10 pounds frequently and 11–25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to push or pull 1–25 pounds frequently and 25–50 pounds rarely
- Ability to grasp/squeeze frequently
- Ability to sit, bend, climb stairs, stoop/kneel/crouch, reach overhead, and operate a keyboard as specified
- Use of clear and audible speaking voice and ability to hear normal speech level
- Preferred: PharmD
- Preferred: Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 residency training
- Preferred: Any certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS)
- Preferred: Six (6) months or more retail pharmacy experience
