Job Description

Environment Management lead keeping DEV/SIT/CAT environments secure and release-ready. Automating operations and optimizing cloud and supplier costs for GDIT’s government technology services.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business and technical teams to ensure DEV, SIT, and CAT environments are available, secure, stable, and release/test ready
  • Lead cross-team coordination for environment availability and readiness
  • Manage environment changes including configuration, refreshes, access, and deployments under governance and compliance processes
  • Create and manage ServiceNow requests and incidents through closure
  • Open and track vendor support cases with providers such as Google and Oracle and drive timely resolution
  • Coordinate patching, vulnerability remediation, and system upgrades with security and infrastructure teams
  • Track schedules, testing, risks, and escalations
  • Own critical incident management for high-severity outages, including triage, communications, restoration, and post-incident actions
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, system/network specifications, and NCRB documentation
  • Coordinate effective monitoring and alerting, including ESM coordination and Splunk dashboards/alerts
  • Analyze operational trends and improve reliability
  • Identify and implement automation and AI-assisted improvements
  • Drive cloud and supplier cost-optimization recommendations

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college/university, or an additional four years of relevant work experience in lieu of the degree
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, and performance awareness, across Oracle, Cloudera, DataStax, or similar platforms
  • Hands-on Linux/UNIX operations and shell scripting for troubleshooting, maintenance, and automation
  • Experience with Kafka/Confluent and integration/data movement patterns, including topics, consumers, and validation
  • Experience supporting multi-environment application operations across DEV/SIT/CAT/PROD in on-premises and cloud environments
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow incidents and requests
  • Ability to manage vendor support escalations
  • Monitoring and log-analysis experience with Splunk Enterprise
  • Familiarity with AppDynamics, Neustar, and cloud monitoring is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery and tools such as VersionOne and ALM platforms
  • Ability to produce and maintain architecture diagrams, network specifications, and NCRB artifacts
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; ability to lead incident bridges and coordinate stakeholders under pressure
  • Cannot be a member of the USPS eAccess Corporate Developer Registration (CDR) to develop new code due to segregation-of-duties requirements
  • Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust
  • Must provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility
  • U.S. residency requirement: required U.S. residency history under the USPS security-clearance process
  • Scheduled availability of 40 hours per week
  • Less than 10% travel required
