Job Description
Events Manager or Coordinator supporting Relentless’s virtual relational-organizing events. Training organizers, troubleshooting live participant issues, and improving program completion.
Responsibilities:
- Events Manager: Execute virtual events end to end, ensuring participants are informed and supported
- Events Coordinator: Oversee and support virtual events, maintain quality, escalate issues, and propose improvements
- Monitor event data and metrics and turn insights into program and material improvements
- Train over 50 Program Organizers to lead high-energy virtual events
- Events Manager: Directly manage the Events Coordinator and support part-time staff during event shifts
- Lead check-in calls with Program Organizers and provide updates throughout shifts
- Serve as manager on duty, answer Slack questions, provide clarification, and handle difficult participants
- Provide feedback on Program Organizer performance to the Deputy Director of Programs, Organizer Experience
- Maintain FAQs and the Knowledge Base with the Content Logistics Manager and Inbox Manager
- Take on additional responsibilities as program needs change
Requirements:
- Events Manager: Experience managing and leading staff, preferably external-facing teams
- Events Coordinator: Leadership or Team Captain experience is a plus, preferably leading volunteers or part-time staff
- Excitement about working with participants from varied backgrounds and experience levels
- Strong, warm communication skills
- Ability to support and motivate a team and empower discouraged teammates
- Values information and data and seeks opportunities to understand and improve programs
- Ability to ask questions, seek clarification, and discern when to escalate issues
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work with varied communication styles
- Comfort working in fast-paced, scaling environments with shifting priorities
- Access to a computer and reliable internet
- Empathy, care for accessibility in communication, and enthusiasm for motivating diverse workers
