Job Description
Field Service Engineer maintaining Abbott Diagnostics instruments across Marquette, Michigan. Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing systems while supporting customers and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot diagnostic instruments
- Complete installations, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs
- Diagnose technical problems across complex instruments and document resolutions
- Manage customer issues through resolution or escalation
- Plan and prioritize service visits and maintain inventory
- Support on-call rotation, after-hour coverage, training travel, and critical account support
- Follow regulatory, quality system, and laboratory safety guidelines
- Partner with cross-functional teams and guide other Field Service Representatives
- Meet service sales, cost-of-service, and KPI targets
- Use remote support tools to maximize instrument uptime
- Support Abbott Diagnostics customers as a trusted technical expert
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Engineering or Laboratory Technology
- Ability to travel 25% within the assigned territory
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with laboratory instrumentation
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, VPN, and remote troubleshooting tools
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain certifications through ongoing training and development
