Job Description
Field Service Engineer installing and repairing Beckman Coulter diagnostic instruments across New England. Providing technical support, preventive maintenance, training, and customer service for clinical laboratories.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair Beckman Coulter laboratory instruments
- Complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repairs
- Provide efficient on-site technical support and technical training on products
- Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records
- Order repair parts and adhere to cycle times
- Use OBI, Sales Force, and SharePoint for service call planning and advancing team goals
- Communicate with internal and external customers and address their unique needs
- Assist with training newer Field Service Engineers
- Travel throughout the assigned New England territory and provide additional support outside the territory as required
- Complete service documentation, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions while meeting company performance and compliance requirements
Requirements:
- Associate degree, preferably in technical, biomedical, instrumentation, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent military experience
- 1+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation
- Experience managing a dynamic service schedule with regional travel
- Ability to independently complete service documentation, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions
- Ability to meet company performance and compliance requirements
- Ability to travel 100% within the assigned territory, with additional support outside the territory as required
- Limited overnight travel availability
- Current valid driver’s license and good driving record over the last three years
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, crouch/crawl, push/pull, and sit/stand for extended periods
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend the neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
- Previous field service experience in medical devices, biotech, or other highly regulated industries is a plus
- Customer-facing experience in high-pressure hospital or lab settings is a plus
