Job Description
Field Engineer installing, maintaining, and repairing GE medical imaging equipment in Dallas. Providing customer-site troubleshooting, technical support, and service for healthcare systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, calibration, and commissioning of GE Precision Healthcare medical imaging equipment, including Monitoring, Telemetary and Diagnostic Cardiology systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting on complex electrical, mechanical, and software-driven systems
- Diagnose and repair intricate technical issues involving circuit analysis, system diagnostics, and software debugging
- Provide on-site technical support, respond to service calls, resolve technical problems, and offer operational guidance
- Collaborate with clinical staff and healthcare professionals to understand equipment performance needs and optimize system functionality
- Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports using company-provided tools and systems
- Manage assigned inventory of parts, tools, and test equipment
- Participate in advanced product training and continuous learning
- Adhere to company safety procedures, quality standards, and medical-device regulatory requirements
- Act as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced field engineers
- Build and maintain customer relationships through professional conduct and exceptional service delivery
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, service contract renewals, and sales leads
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing complex medical imaging equipment
- Proven expertise troubleshooting and repairing sophisticated electronic, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical applications related to medical imaging
- Proficiency reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Ability to work independently under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including explaining complex technical issues to non-technical personnel
- Customer-focused mindset and dedication to high-quality service
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within an assigned service territory, including overnight stays
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and work in hospital and clinic environments
- Familiarity with medical-device regulatory requirements, including FDA and ISO
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard computer applications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Must comply with GEHC background check, post-offer drug test, customer access policies, required immunizations, and additional drug tests or background checks as applicable
