Job Description

Field Service Representative maintaining turbomachinery for Solar Turbines’ energy solutions. Installing, troubleshooting, and servicing customer equipment across Michigan or Indiana.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot equipment at customer locations using tools, parts and technical diagrams
  • Perform on-site preventive maintenance and inspection service work
  • Provide call-out services and commissioning activities on turbomachinery and package systems
  • Use test equipment, schematics and manufacturers' specifications to diagnose malfunctions
  • Analyze, repair or replace faulty parts under supervision using hand tools, gauges and instruments
  • Utilize digital tools and systems
  • Inspect for common causes of trouble, including dirty or defective components
  • Clean and lubricate equipment under guidance
  • Perform routine installations and adjust equipment within normal procedures

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques
  • Ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations
  • Proactive initiative and drive to accomplish goals
  • Knowledge of problem-solving approaches, tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of machines used in power plants
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs or replacements on power-plant mechanical parts
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment and preventive maintenance in oil and gas
  • Ability to repair or replace faulty mechanical parts used in hydrocarbon exploration, production or refining
  • Knowledge of oil-and-gas safety procedures, practices, regulatory requirements and hazard response
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Ability to design, implement and operate automated process controls
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques in a manufacturing environment
  • Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and physical fitness evaluation
  • Clean driving record: no moving violations within the last 12 months, no “2 point” violations within the last 3 years, and no DUIs within the last 7 years
  • Able to obtain a legal Transportation Worker Identification Credential
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
