Job Description

Group Manager leading WNS’s Mumbai General Ledger and Record to Report operations. Managing large finance teams, controls, client governance, and process transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end Record to Report operations
  • Oversee General Ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reviews, financial reporting, and period-end close activities
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery within SLAs
  • Monitor operational performance, risks, bottlenecks, and corrective actions
  • Improve close timelines, process accuracy, and operational efficiency
  • Lead a large RTR team through Managers, Assistant Managers, Team Leaders, and SMEs
  • Set performance expectations and manage team performance
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and capability development
  • Manage staffing, workload distribution, and resource utilization
  • Serve as a senior contact for clients and internal leadership
  • Lead governance meetings, manage escalations, and resolve critical issues
  • Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards, SOX requirements, and client controls
  • Support internal and external audits and close audit observations
  • Lead process simplification, standardization, automation, digitization, Lean, Six Sigma, and transformation initiatives
  • Partner with Automation, Technology, and Transformation teams on RPA, workflow automation, AI, and analytics solutions
  • Monitor KPIs including SLA adherence, close timelines, journal entry accuracy, reconciliation aging, quality, productivity, backlog, and customer satisfaction
  • Support workforce planning, capacity management, budgeting, productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization initiatives

Requirements:

  • CA / CA Inter / CMA
  • 5–7 years of post-qualification experience
  • Team handling experience is mandatory
  • Must be a Mumbai candidate
  • Must be willing to work from the office
  • Must be willing to work US shifts from 5:30pm–2:30am
  • Experience managing General Ledger / Record to Report operations
  • Knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets accounting, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reviews, financial reporting, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Experience with governance, risk, controls, SOX requirements, accounting standards, and audits
  • Experience leading continuous improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, automation, RPA, workflow automation, AI, or analytics initiatives
  • Experience with KPI, workforce planning, capacity management, budgeting, productivity, and cost optimization management
