Job Description

ICAM Technical Writer documenting identity, authentication, and Zero Trust systems for GDIT, a technology and professional services company serving the U.S. government.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather technical information from Identity, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and ICAM subject matter experts
  • Develop, organize, and write SOPs, TTPs, integration guides, architecture summaries, and process documentation
  • Develop comprehensive documentation aligned with organizational standards, engineering best practices, and ICAM governance requirements
  • Maintain documentation repositories
  • Produce content for internal SharePoint portals following established publishing processes
  • Collaborate with IdP engineers, application teams, and program leadership to identify documentation tasks and prioritize work
  • Meet documentation delivery timelines
  • Evaluate existing ICAM documentation and propose improvements to structure, clarity, consistency, and usability
  • Review and edit documents for grammar, accuracy, completeness, and overall quality
  • Support ICAM portfolio documentation initiatives, including onboarding packages, modernization deliverables, and lifecycle documentation

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance at minimum; interim Secret Clearances are not allowed
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience creating technical documentation for IT, cybersecurity, IAM, or enterprise systems
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to translate engineering concepts into clear documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Documentation governance discipline
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, architecture, and cybersecurity teams
  • Familiarity with Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI preferred
  • Technical knowledge of Azure, M365, or cloud-based identity services preferred
  • Experience documenting identity, authentication, cyber, or enterprise IT systems preferred
  • Understanding of SAML, OAuth, OIDC, MFA, PKI, CAC workflows, and Zero Trust identity principles preferred
  • Experience producing executive-level briefing materials and engineering review artifacts preferred
  • Less than 10% travel required
