Job Description
LAN/WLAN Network System Engineer operating and supporting customer networks for German IT services provider DATAGROUP. Configuring Cisco environments, troubleshooting faults, and delivering 2nd-level network support.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and configure LAN and WLAN environments at customer locations
- Work independently on customer LAN/WLAN projects
- Ensure continuous and highly available network operation
- Troubleshoot and eliminate faults in network environments
- Perform error analysis and root cause analysis in network contexts
- Provide 2nd level support for network-related questions
- Create reports and document network environments
Requirements:
- Completed apprenticeship as an IT specialist or a bachelor's degree in computer science
- Several years of professional experience in the professional support of networks
- Experience with TCP/IP and OSI Layer 1-7
- Good knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Series, including 9000er Switch Series and Catalyst WLAN Controller
- Experience in measuring and simulating WLAN infrastructures is desirable
- Additional knowledge of Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst/DNA Center and Ruckus LAN/WLAN components would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Ansible, Python and APIs on network components
- Basic knowledge of network management tools such as Zabbix, Netbox and openNMS
- Relevant Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are desirable
- Business fluent English, written and spoken
- German language skills are desirable
