Job Description

Key Account Manager managing public-sector accounts in California with significant autonomy and growth opportunities. Focused on building relationships and expanding business within key accounts in the territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Own a California territory with real account growth upside
  • Grow net dollar retention across accounts over $25K
  • Build account plans and expansion paths
  • Turn RFP wins into follow-on consulting work
  • Manage relationships with GIS managers and IT leaders
  • Attend council meetings, conferences, and local events
  • Spot software opportunities and pull in sales support
  • Partner with founders on strategy and key presentations

Requirements:

  • Experience selling into local government
  • Account growth or expansion sales experience
  • Background in services or consulting sales
  • Strong network in California public sector
  • Able to navigate city budgets and local government decision-making
  • Able to travel across California as needed
  • Nice to have GIS (geographic information systems) experience
  • Sold to GIS managers or IT leaders
  • Experience with RFP-driven government business
  • Worked in a founder-led environment
