Job Description
Key Account Manager managing public-sector accounts in California with significant autonomy and growth opportunities. Focused on building relationships and expanding business within key accounts in the territory.
Responsibilities:
- Own a California territory with real account growth upside
- Grow net dollar retention across accounts over $25K
- Build account plans and expansion paths
- Turn RFP wins into follow-on consulting work
- Manage relationships with GIS managers and IT leaders
- Attend council meetings, conferences, and local events
- Spot software opportunities and pull in sales support
- Partner with founders on strategy and key presentations
Requirements:
- Experience selling into local government
- Account growth or expansion sales experience
- Background in services or consulting sales
- Strong network in California public sector
- Able to navigate city budgets and local government decision-making
- Able to travel across California as needed
- Nice to have GIS (geographic information systems) experience
- Sold to GIS managers or IT leaders
- Experience with RFP-driven government business
- Worked in a founder-led environment
