Job Description

Payroll Operations Manager leading compliant regional and global payroll for Remote’s international employment platform. Mentoring the payroll team, managing providers, and improving KPIs and SLA metrics across APAC.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the planning and implementation of the Payroll chapter
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Payroll team
  • Own the complete payroll function, ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with country-specific government regulations
  • Serve as a point of contact between internal and external stakeholders on payroll-related matters
  • Lead, unblock, and support the Payroll team
  • Stay up to date with international payroll laws and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and country-specific regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Manage relationships with payroll, accounting, and payroll service providers
  • Develop and implement best practices, key performance indicators, and SLA metrics for the team
  • Report to the Senior Manager, Payroll Operations

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in regional / global payroll operations
  • Understanding of global payroll best practices
  • Experience implementing payroll in multiple countries
  • Experience managing relationships with third-party payroll services
  • Passion for managing people without micromanaging reports
  • Proficiency with SAP, Excel, and Google Sheets
  • Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment
  • Productivity-focused approach to improving and accelerating work
  • Ability and willingness to work largely asynchronously
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Prior remote-work experience is not required; it is considered a plus
