Job Description

Operational Engineer II ensuring operational excellence across complex systems for CSG. Collaborating with development teams to deliver reliable and secure IT solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • The Operational Engineer II plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across complex systems and applications.
  • This position partners closely with Software Development and Platform teams to design, implement, and maintain highly reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
  • Lead operational readiness for software releases, ensuring systems meet reliability and performance standards before production deployment.
  • Architect and implement automation solutions to eliminate manual processes, enhance system resilience, and accelerate delivery pipelines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high-severity incidents, driving permanent fixes and preventive measures.
  • Optimize infrastructure and application performance through data-driven analysis and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate across engineering, network, and platform teams to design and implement robust operational strategies.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, test-driven development, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, operational workflows, and incident management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in operational engineering or similar roles.
  • Expertise in F5 LTM/GTM (BIG-IP) administration and optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash; .NET/C# preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, and application performance tuning.
  • Proven ability to design scalable solutions and lead complex operational initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical teams.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of emerging technologies.
  • Willingness to work in shifts.
